Significance: This casita, according to its present owner, was once part of a much larger placita-type house. The complex was built about 1900 by Agapito Romero and the casita was constructed for J.H. Martinez, brother-in-law of Senor Romero. The major part of the large establishment was demolished in 1935 to make way for the highway. The fine territorial trim of the casita was removed in 1962.
