Significance: This small ordnance warehouse (Building No. A-199), built in 1941, is considered significant for its association with United States (U.S.) Naval history and the Mare Island Naval Shipyard (MINSY), the first Naval installation on the West Coast of the U.S. The warehouse is a contributing element of the successful base operations at MINSY and is a well-preserved example of typical storage structure construction methods and materials used during World War II-era expansion at this base.
