Notes
Survey number HABS CA-1543-P
National Register Number: 75002103
Significance: Building 417 was constructed in 1922 to store the vast quantities of surplus medical supplies that were returned to shore facilities from ships after World War I. The building continued to serve as part of the Medical Supply Depot until the beginning of World War II. In 1938 a cut into Dublin Hill was made to accommodate the 90* rotation of the building. It was converted into a stationary supply warehouse that was operated by the Supply Department. The building continued to operate as stationary supply warehouse until base closure forced the its closing. Building 73 is a contributing element of the Mare Island Historic District, having good historical integrity with approximately 80% of the original building remaining.
