Significance: Fyffe Avenue has been identified as a contributing element of the Naval Supply Annex Stockton Historic District. The historic district was determined eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places under criteria A and C, for its role in supplying the fleet during World War II and as an important example of new warehouse design developed during World War II. Specifically, Naval Supply Annex Stockton was the first Navy supply depot to be built entirely to accommodate palletized cargo. Fyffe Avenue served three major purposes within the annex. First, it was the principal access from Stockton, providing for truck cargo shipments as well as access for workers. Second, Fyffe Avenue ran adjacent to the principal rail line as well as the holding yard for rail cars; in this respect, the avenue was a key rail-truck link. Finally, the northern side of Fyffe Avenue was the only street within the complex to be landscaped to any significant degree, creating a pleasant allee at the entrance to the annex. The most handsome buildings, including the headquarters, were built along the landscaped part of Fyffe Avenue, accentuating the importance of this roadway to the general plan of the annex.
