Significance: Building 212, the Cannery Building, is significant for the period from 1930 to 1952 as a component of the reconstruction of Agnews State Hospital in a pavilion plan. Buildings such as the Cannery, Bakery, Electrical and Plumbing Shop, Laundry, and Mattress and Upholstery Shop allowed the patients and employees to meet many of their needs (including food processing and storage) on site.
