Building/structure dates: 1856 initial construction
Significance: Built in 1856 shows influence of the Greek Revival with resulting elegance. It was built to serve as a home and as a store. The house was built of brick made with a Veralen patent horsepower brick making machine at a brick yard nearby, owned by Whaley.
