Notes
Survey number HABS CA-2398-T
Significance: Prior to World War II, the permanent dormitories or barracks housed airmen and other enlisted men. During the War, they were used as additional quarters and headquarters facilities for non-commissioned officers. Facility No. 422 also functioned as a hospital ward beginning in 1944. These buildings are an example of the application of an important architectural trend (Spanish Colonial Revival) adapted to reflect California's Mission heritage in a departure from traditional military architecture.
