Description: Referred to as the Nuremberg Chronicle after the German city in which it was published, this lavishly illustrated atlas is widely regarded as one of the outstanding examples of early printing. Through the books mixed use of woodcut illustrations and Latin text, the reader is offered a history of the world up until the discovery of the Americas. Notable highlights include biblical and royal family trees, city views, and a world map encompassing Europe, Africa, the Indian subcontinent and parts of Asia.
