Drawing on an archive of almost a half a million physical maps and 7,200 atlases, the University of Florida houses one of the top five academic cartographic collections in the United States.
With an emphasis on maps of Florida, Latin America, Africa and the World, the University's antique map collection covers almost all geographies and time periods of interest to the scholar. The antique map sub-collection can be accessed by clicking the graphic below and are grouped according to their geographic coverage.
Along with the antique maps, the university also holds the largest physical collection of Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps in any institution outside the Library of Congress. The digital images from this sub-collection can be viewed by clicking the graphic below and selecting the town or city of interest.
