When you order a fine-art reproduction from Historic Map Works, the image you see on the website is further processed to create a print suitable for your most demanding presentation environment.
Maps that appear in black & white on the website will have a sepia background added before fine-art printing. Research Prints may not have the sepia added. Click here to see an example
Research Prints are color prints fitted to 11" x 17" paper ideal for research and educational use, but not suitable for framing as center seams and imperfections will not be removed. Orders for less than 15 research prints will be mailed folded in an envelope. Larger orders will be shipped flat via UPS.
If you wish to use this image for commercial use or you want to have an non-watermarked image at a higher quality than our standard downloadable .jpgs for personal use please contact us.
We define commercial use as any use that creates value for the person or institution that releases one of our maps into the public space either digitally or printed. The term commercial use can be applied to individuals, academic institutions, non-profit groups, or for-profit businesses.
A one year limited commercial or personal use license costs $50 - $5000 per image (depending upon the image) and/or an agreed upon percentage of the revenue generated by the image.
We offer delivery via FTP file transfer or a couriered CD.
* Note: This image has been made from an informational quality scan and does not lend itself to Fine Art quality printing, it will however make a nice Research Print. Please keep this in mind if you wish to proceeed with ordering a Fine Art print.
