Significance: Structure O is a wooden valve box. The valve box is located along the flanks of an ephemeral drainage which flows down off a broad, linear, west to east trending ridge into the valley of Horse Thief Draw. The structure is located approximately 1/2 mile northwest of Superior. The valve box consists of a wood lined pit 3 feet 2 inches long east to west by 3 feet 0 inches wide north to south. The pit is approximately 4 feet 3 inches deep to fill and the top of the valve box extends 1 foot 0 inches above present ground surface. The wood lining consists of vertically standing milled lumber boards surrounding the pit. The vertical boards are secured by a horizontal frame at the top of the box. This frame runs around the interior of the valve box. The valve box is partially covered by four sash sawed wooden planks fastened to the frame and top of the vertical boards with metal nails. The pit is partially filled with sediment covering the valve and pipe.
