Significance: Structure KK is a valve house. The valve house is located atop the west to east trending linear ridge which forms the south side of Horse Thief Draw. The valve house is located approximately 1.3 miles northwest of Superior at the west end of the old Superior townsite. The valve house consists of a rectangular structure oriented from east to west. The overall dimensions are 6 feet 3 inches east to west by 7 feet 2 inches north to south. The structure is a wood frame building with the exterior walls and roof covered with tar paper. The roof is flat and slopes downward to the west. At the east end the building is 6 feet 1 inch tall and at the west end the building is 4 feet 4 inches tall. Access to the interior is through a doorway in the center of the east elevation. The doorway is 2 feet 4 inches wide and 4 feet 5 inches tall. The door is present and retains its original hardware. The interior of the valve house consists of a wood plank floor. The walls consist of the frames and external milled lumber boards.
