Documentation compiled after 1933.

Notes
Survey number HABS WV-281-H
Significance: The scale house is associated with cattle raising. Cattle were purchased by buyers moving through the area whose prices were based on weight. Thus, one expects that in a farming area one or two farms would have weighing facilities. The general practice was to charge a modest amount for weighing cattle from other farms. This structure symbolizes the period in the farm's history in which cattle raising was a primary activity.
