Significance: It was originally established as two separate facilities during WWII: Milan Ordnance Depot, which stored conventional ammunition, and Wolf Creek Ordnance Plant, which loaded, assembled, and packed a variety of minor and major caliber ammunition. Placed in standby after the war, the unified installations were reactivated during the Korean War.
