Documentation compiled after 1933.

Notes
Survey number HABS SC-612
Building/structure dates: 1939 initial construction
Significance: The Greyhound Bus Station is Columbia's finest example of Art Moderne architecture, emphasizing the use of new materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and "Vitrolite" glass panels, and with extensive use of streamlining. Its exterior features include blue and ivory "Vitrolite" glass panels and an aluminum marquee trimmed with stainless steel bands and aluminum greyhounds at each end. A vertical streamlined sign is centered above the marquee with a running greyhound and the words "Greyhound Bus Depot" in neon. Its interior features include terrazzo floors and "Prestwood" wainscotting. The bus station was determined eligible for the National Register of Historic Places by the Department of Interior on November 17, 1982, but was not listed due to owner objection.
