Significance: The Central Street Pedestrian Viaduct is significant for its associations with historic improvements made by the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad to their right-of-way in Central Falls and Providence, Rhode Island. The Central Street Pedestrian Viaduct is an unusual surviving example of a railroad footbridge.
