Significance: One of 5 buildings begun in 1932 at Crater Lake National Park headquarters in Munson Valley under the supervision of NPS Landscape Architect Merel Sager. Built during the peak period of construction in the park, this structure incorporates construction techniques pioneered by Sager. These include the use of massive boulders for walls, and the use of native materials. The Ranger Dorm is significant architecturally as an excellent example of the NPS Rustic Style of architecture. Historically, it is significant for its associations with the development of Crater Lake National Park, the Civilian Conservation Corps, and Merel Sager.
