Survey number HAER OH-118
Significance: It is technologically and historically significant industrial complex in Mahoning County. The facility was in operation from 1916-1932 and served as Youngstown's only water pumping and filtration station during this period. The water works was critical to the industrial and residential development of Youngstown during the early 20th century, and as an important record of an early water pumping and filtration facility. The design, construction, and modification of the plant reflect the evolution of the water purification process.
