Significance: The Hyde Hall bridge was reportedly built in 1825 as part of the 1817-1835 construction of George Hyde Clark's country estate, Hyde Hall, on the northern shore of Otsego Lake near Cooperstown, New York. It is believed to be the oldest extant wooden covered bridge in the United States. Hyde Hall, a National Historic Landmark, is considered the finest example of a neo-Classical country estate in the country.
