Building/structure dates: 1804 initial construction
Significance: The Gardiner Windmill is one of eleven surviving 18th and early-19th century wind-powered grist mills on Long Island. This is one of four extant windmills built by Nathaniel Dominy V, a prominent East Hampton craftsman. This is the only windmill with underdrift gearing.
