Significance: The building was built in 1902 to serve both commercial and residential use. It functioned as such under various ownerships until it was sold in 1939 to the American Legion, Frank Griener Post No. 224, the most recent occupants. Its simple false-front wooden frame style with large display windows is representative of many early commercial structures built in Niobrara, as well as other pioneer towns, during their early stages of development.
