Building/structure dates: 1871 initial construction
Significance: The Stietenroth House was constructed circa 1871-74. It was built in the form of a traditional story-and-a-half "Creole Cottage," with gable ends on the sides and a porch across the front of the house. The original house, in plan, consisted of a center hall flanked by four rooms of approximately the same size, two on either side. Two separate additions were built on the rear of the house in the twentieth century. The house is of wood frame construction, with board-and-batten siding on the front, and horizontal siding on the sides and rear.
