Significance: The small brick building of Rockford School was built as a one-room schoolhouse. At the time of its construction in 1916, three other similar schools designed by the same architect, J.R. Felt & Company of Kansas City, were erected in the same school district. Three of these for structures, including Rockford School, received identical one-room additions in 1924.
