Significance: The Roundhouse was the primary hub of activity at the Duluth and Iron Range Rail Road Company's terminal near Two Harbors. Some of the buildings that make up the Roundhouse were utilized for the day-to-day maintenance and storage of the railroad's engines, while other buildings were required for major repairs to the locomotives.
