Notes
Survey number HABS MN-146-AP
Significance: The building probably was constructed in the mid-1920s, when, according to former Joyce Estate caretaker Joseph Waleski, Jr., the adjoining pitch-and-putt Golf Course was completed. The Golf Course Pump house is mentioned by name in a probate inventory compiled in 1938, shortly after the death of the estate's founder, David Gage Joyce. Sited on the shore of Trout Lake, the Golf Course Pump House drew water directly from the lake and piped it to the Golf Course fairways and greens to the north and east. ... Situated in the estate's Recreation Area, the Golf Course Pump House is a small, one-story, square-plan, wood-frame, gable-roofed building with a utilitarian design that matches its utilitarian function.
