Notes
Survey number HABS MI-257-A
Unprocessed field note material exists for this structure (N18).
Building/structure dates: 1890 initial construction
Significance: Basement - concrete walls, floors, foundations; east-west median bearing wall; brick masonry fireplace foundation added later (? 1920's ?). 1st Floor - Hardwood (?) floors throughout covered by modern wall-to-wall carpeting except for linoleum in kitchen & original pantry (modern 1/2 bath), stairway from kitchen down to basement added later (? 1920's ?), historic back porch off dining room eliminated by modern back staircase with exterior entry to 2nd floor modern apartment, modern airlock entry added off kitchen, fireplace in parlor (? 1920's addition?) covered by gypsum wall board. 2nd Floor - Hardwood (?) floors covered by wall-to-wall carpeting except for linoleum in north bedroom (modern apartment kitchen) and closet converted to modern bathroom, modern finished attic over east wing (originally 1 story with unfinished attic), closet off west bedroom apparently an original unfortunate addition which intrudes on foyer daylighting and staircase headroom.
