Significance: Located on the Metropolitan Line of the B & O Railroad, the Rockville passenger station has served the area's transportation needs continuously since its openings in 1873. A simple, well executed example of Ruskinian Gothic Revival architecture, the station was built according to a standard design used by the B & O in the 1870's for several of its smaller stations.
