Measured drawings are 1964 reproductions of drawings made in 1922-1928 for an unpublished book titled, "Measured Drawings With Full Size Details of Moulded sections of Early Architecture of the District of Columbia, Maryland & Virginia."

Significance: Parthenon Manor was originally known as "Riley's Discovery" prior to 1894 when Dr. James W. Rogers changed the name. The house, reportedly built in 1764 for Christopher Lowndes for his daughter as a wedding gift, was demolished in 1941 and the site has been leveled for a shopping center.
