Significance: The Edmund Freeman House, ca. 1830, is a Cape Cod "double-house" characteristic of its date. The western wing, added after 1836, was the home of Edmund Freeman's son Richard R. Freeman. Building Number 18/47 in Cape Cod National Seashore. / The Edmund Freeman House is a one and a half story Cape Cod "double house" of wood construction. The rectangular house faces south with an ell to the west. All facades, except the south facade of the west ell which is clapboard, are shingled. The house is surrounded by residential lawn and planting. It is an example of 1820/30 farm architecture, little altered and in excellent condition.
