Significance: Built in the late eighteenth century, this is Natchitoches's oldest, extant house. Originally two rooms in plan, with a gallery on all four sides, the house was made of hand-hewn, notched, and pegged cypress timbers and bousillage. Sometime after the initial construction, the house was enlarged to its present form.
