Significance: The Kroll House is an example of a Louisiana plantation house type ca. 1825. Construction is of bousillage between posts set on brick piers. The high hip roof covers the front gallery and two room deep center hall plan. Interior details are simple throughout. The four rooms enclosed by the shed roof across the south elevation represent a later addition. Walls are sawn studs and materials and details dissimilar from main rooms. Examination of the rear sill indicates an earlier floor system, possibly a rear gallery with cabinets.
