Survey number HAER IL-103
Building/structure dates: 1911 initial construction
Significance: Of the two surviving plate-girder swing bridges built across the I & M Canal, the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Canal Bridge is the only one which contains a center pivot pier. The others were built off-center to provide easy navigation for canal barges.
