Building/structure dates: 1897 initial construction
Significance: This bridge is a relatively late example of wrought iron fabrication and the earliest known bridge in Illinois to have expansion bearings. The structure is one of two in the state identified by the Massillon Bridge Company of Massillon, Ohio.
