Building/structure dates: 1934 initial construction
Significance: Used as an administrative structure in support of early Forest Service activities on the Red River Ranger district. One and 1/2 story log structure on cement footing probably built to a standard Forest Service plan, but no plans could be located in District files. / Log on cement footing, original wood shingle roof replaced with metal, wood joists and floors. The building has a front and back porch. Corners are of a dovetail type notching. Interior consists of several small offices and a restroom. Replacement of deteriorated logs, replacement of windows with more efficient type, addition of metal roof are all recent, but actual dates not known. Interior was remodeled in early 1980's.
