Significance: These ditches and their components are significant as part of the Pioneer Mill Company sugar plantation irrigation system. The irrigation systems represent a method of construction and agricultural technique important to the development of sugar plantations. The sugar plantations along with their irrigation systems made significant contributions to the growth of the State of Hawaii.
