Survey number HABS HI-34
Significance: The Melcher's building is one of Honolulu's oldest extant buildings and one of the first commercial structures in downtown Honolulu constructed in a material other than wood. Its coral stone blocks mark it as a prominent structure for the young city of the mid-nineteenth century.
