This house is considered standardized Army housing plan "Type A."

Significance: The dwelling at 5906 Dalecarlia Place is a contributing resource to the Calecarlia Water Treatment Plane, a component facility of the Washington Aqueduct National Register of Historic Places District (refer to HAER DC-54, Dalecarlia Water Treatment Plant, in the HAER collection). The two-story dwelling at 5906 Dalecarlia Place was constructed in 1927 using standardized Army housing plan "Type A." This residence typifies standardized military construction of officers housing in the northeastern United States during that time period.
