Documentation compiled after 1933.

Notes
Survey number HABS CO-151
Building/structure dates: 1885 initial construction
Building/structure dates: 1908 subsequent work
Significance: This complex illustrates the accretionary aspect of building expansion in a mining camp on the slow decline, such as St. Elmo. The Stark family particularly favored adding, rather than reconstructing. The commercial building, from rough plank construction of its facade, appears to be one of the first generation of store buildings erected during the early 1880s boom.
