Building/structure dates: 1885 subsequent work
Significance: Like the Roof House to the east, this house illustrates the accretionary history of St. Elmo residences during the initial 1880's boom. The log cabin was the initial dwelling, built of available materials and swiftly for immediate shelter. As more space was needed, a more finished addition was erected at front, constructed of dimensioned lumber from nearby sawmills.
