Building/structure dates: 1882 initial construction
Building/structure dates: 1909 subsequent work
Significance: This building illustrates the changing economy of St. Elmo as it passed through its final boom. Stores decreased in number; demand for rental rooms and houses increased. Mrs. Stark responded by remodeling the Cash-Criss building for residential use.
