Significance: Balcony House is one example of the Anasazi cliff dwellings that were built in southwestern Colorado. The name, "Balcony House," derives from the preponderance of the architectural element. A surviving example of the balconies --in Balcony House-- spans rooms 6/7 and 8/9; other balconies are connected to room 5 as well as to the north side of the cross wall between plazas.
