Significance: Building 215 is significant for the period from 1917 to 1941 as a component of the reconstruction of Agnews State Hospital in a pavilion plan. The Mortuary was a necessary building at a hospital whose patient population exceeded one thousand. The building allowed Agnews staff to prepare their deceased for burial on site instead of being dependent on facilities in the surrounding communities.
