Documentation compiled after 1968.

Notes
Survey number HAER CA-286
Unprocessed field note material exists for this structure (N858).
Building/structure dates: 1926 initial construction
Significance: Franklin Avenue Bridge is significant as an important structure in the neighborhood development of the city, making possible extensive residential construction in the Franklin Hills area and creating a roadway connection to East Hollywood and the Ivanhoe District. A prominent Los Angeles landmark, the structure demonstrates the Bureau's capacity to design a residential-scale span as well as the monumental Los Angeles River bridges which were constructed at about the same time.
