Building/structure dates: 1845 initial construction
Significance: Six generations of P.H. Pitts the original owner have lived in this home, Pitts Folly. P.H. Pitts had ten children, two sons were killed in the Confederate War, when 19 years of age, each having served two years. John Davidson Pitts was in the Fourth Alabama Canebrake Rifle Guards, the other with General Forrest. P.H. Pitts Jr., was Judge of Probate, Dallas County for many years. Alexander Davidson Pitts was Attorney General under President Wilson. Three grandsons and a nephew were married in Pitts Folly, all have been Army men.
